kitesurf festival

Festival season is almost upon us. When you want a slightly more active festival than what you are used to, visit one (or all) of these kitesurf festivals. Whole weekends of kitesurfing, learning new skills by following clinics and enjoying some music and beers with friends… Sounds like summer to me!

KBO 14-15-16 May @ Noordwijk

First on the list is the KBO event. Kiteboard Open is dedicated to kiteboarding and beach lifestyle since its inception in 2005. Everything that has to do with kiteboarding and the relaxed beach lifestyle can be found on the KBO event. This year they will also host the European Kiteboarding Championships for the youth.

What can you expect? Imagine the best kiteboarders showing their skills on the water, surf dudes and beach babes gathering at the Feel Good Stage and of course the Beach Party! You’ll find all the major kite brands, there is great music, snacks and drinks and so on! Find more information at http://www.kiteboardopen.com.

Hooked 28-29 May @ Workum

Time flies, the sixth edition of Hooked will take place in Workum this year. The main goal of this festival is to get as many people as possible Hooked to our beautiful sport. This means free admission to the grounds and kitelessons for the cost price. What you can expect? A whole weekend of kite surfing, windsurfing, climbing, BMXing, board sports, backflips, slacklining, beach, camping, experiences, exploring, music and parties! And all of this for a very low price.

You can crash at the camping site and you don’t need to pack lunch. At the entire festival terrain you can find awesome food trucks and coffee stands. Read more about this festival at http://hooked-event.nl.

MadNes 1-3 July @ Ameland

MadNes combines surfing, skating, music and more. This event will celebrate its 9th birthday at the beach of Nes. You can kite, wind and wave surf until you drop with your own material, demo material or during clinics. Besides that you can go nuts with more than 35 big bands and DJs and take a ride on the smallest Ferris wheel in Europe. Tickets are sold out, but keep an eye out on ticketswap and you might be lucky!

Small sample of the activities: Kitesurfing, SUP, skateboarding, skimboarding, rafting, wavesurfing, windsurfing and so on. Check it out at http://www.madnesfestival.nl.

Where will you be this festival season?
